The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable, and delivered on time. WLE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our WLE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, which includes the following disciplines, reliability, system safety and supportability.

The Reliability Engineer-Intelligence and Information Analyst, part of the Engineering Intelligence Analysis (EIA) Team residing within the Reliability Department, provides support by pursuing synergies between the technical disciplines. The department will provide the foundation for timely delivery of actionable data to our program customers, in addition to supporting the Engineering function by developing and/or maintaining software tools utilized for analysis and tracking. We are looking for someone that understands how to gather data, perform analysis, and present data in a meaningful way in order to provide programs with better insight into making business decisions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Deploy automated solutions for process improvement
  • Regularly interact with Engineering, Quality & Mission Assurance, Supply Chain, and Program Management for 'best-in-class" solutions
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Support cross functional projects and initiatives
  • Run and lead Failure Review Boards (FRB) and/or Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action (FRACA) activities
  • Versed in Information Technologies (IT) and cognizant of Intellectual Property (IP) issues

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

This position may be a Salary Grade G06 or G07 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and education requirements for the position.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Technology, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • Two (2) years’ experience with statistics
  • MS Office Products

Desired Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Information Systems/Technology, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Four (4) years’ experience with statistics
  • Knowledge of statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, BowerBI, R, Tableau, JMP, Kinaxis, etc.)
  • Knowledge or experience with SAP and PRISM or similar database systems
  • Experience working on a team
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented; ability to perform in fast paced, deadline driven environments with constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to follow defined processes, in compliance with regulations
  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding regarding basic principles and concepts of information management
  • General understanding of requirements, specifications, and regulations

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
