Principal Software Engineer

The Principle Software Engineer will provide unit level release testing, PR/TP testing, develop and institute test plans, all of which will involve verification testing, system test and field-testing activities. You will provide technical document preparation and verbal communication of technical Cybersecurity issues and reports to senior government and military officials are expected. As a member of the Integration & Test (I&T) Functional Area of the Missile Defense National Team, you will drive automation of test activities as well as other efficiencies within the organization.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Evaluate the Information Assurance/Cybersecurity posture/compliance of systems, software, and processes that enable the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS)
  • Knowledge of software verification processes and techniques, test reporting, regression testing, and test data analysis is required, with a particular focus on Cybersecurity compliance design and implementation considerations
  • Agile development environment experience, automated testing framework (i.e. Gherkin), manipulation of large data sets, spreadsheet analysis, and associated tools
  • MATLAB, JAVA or PYTHON scripting, documenting software deficiency reports, and presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document)
  • Strong verbal/written communications skills enabling him/her to work effectively in a small technical team environment, and to accurately represent test perspectives to C2BMC system architects, software designers, other testers and test support personnel, the Government customer, and personnel in other MDA programs
  • Cyber background with experience in RMF
  • Use of DoD test/verification methodologies and test data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with various IA/Cyber tools and capabilities such as ACAS, HBSS, ArcSight (SIEM), Endgame, CyberArk, ICAP, Multi-Factor Authentication, UserLock, BitLocker
  • Understanding of GPO management, patch management (Linux, Windows), AD, DISA STIG.
  • Experience with Ansible desired.

Education Required:

  • 8 years of experience with a Technical Bachelors Degree (Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science) or equivalent relevant work experience
  • DoD 8570 IAT-Level II certification required. CISSP certification highly desired.

Active/Current Secret Clearance

Other:

Occasional travel to and from HSV and COS may be expected. Frequent travel between LMCO Hwy83 and Schriever AFB.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
