Job Description:

Key role leading an Operations Integrated Product Team to ensure successful execution of one or more programs in the Undersea Systems business areas. Successful candidate will drive the overall management and participation in all phases of program development from capture and proposals thru development, execution and close-out. Duties also include, but are not limited to: the overall management and coordination of recurring and non-recurring manufacturing resources to support program requirements, CAM responsibility of $10-$25M budget, work across all required operation value streams, lead role in implementing engineering change orders and support EVMS (Earned Value Management Systems) reporting requirements. Presenting to the Customer, Sr. Directors and VP level representing his/her IPT team and operations performance. The IPT Lead is directly responsible for the performance of his/her program team.

Other duties include managing the coordination of program schedules with GSC, Subcontracts, Engineering and other CBTs. Support Manufacturing Operations strategy, and utilize R6S best practices. Lead the effort to develop and implement cost reduction initiatives for both recurring efforts and new business opportunities. Coordinate Operations bids for new development and production proposals. Generate production plans, make/where plans, and write manufacturing sections of technical proposals.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering or similar role.
  • Lean manufacturing and / or EV management experience
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • Ability to create and manage a complex IMS using Microsoft Project.
  • Must be able to travel locally as needed. International travel may be required to support production.

Desired Skills:

  • Previous Undersea program manufacturing experience.
  • EVMS L2 Certification
  • Six Sigma experience
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business (i.e. MBA, or MS/MA) desired.
  • Knowledge of and experience with using IPDS (Integrated Product Development System) processes.
  • Understanding of PRISM.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience dealing with suppliers and sub-contracts.
  • Experience developing and executing competitive bids and proposals through collaboration with work centers
  • Strong technical background

Required Education (including Major):

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred fields but not limited to: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Operations Mgmt, Finance)

This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or Salary Grade G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
