Operations Research has the responsibility to provide, develop, utilize, and maintain performance and Operations Research simulations and to conduct operational analyses for all RMD's products, support new business initiatives and development and execution of technology roadmaps.

Job Description:

The Mid-Level Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer II conducts or participates in multi-disciplinary research across integrated product teams consisting of GNC, Signal Processing and Performance Analysis. They are responsible for the design, development, and utilization of high fidelity digital simulation software, in advanced technical computing environments, and perform system modeling and analysis activities for the purposes of supporting new business, missile design, performance assessments and flight test support according to the program schedule.

The Mid-Level Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer II will participate in the development and implementation of simulation solutions, associated post-processing, and analysis to support mission trade studies and performance simulations, ensuring they meet defined requirements and functions. The Mid-Level Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer II will analyze and positively affect simulation execution performance. The Mid-Level Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer II will require knowledge of performance engineering practices, and procedures, in order to perform non-repetitive effective analytical work across a wide range of challenging computational problems.

The Mid-Level Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer II will work to work in a team environment, receiving inputs from the program or team lead and providing guidance and/or direction to other team members. The Mid-Level Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer II will work on diverse projects, and determine and develop analytic approaches and solutions. Additionally, they will provide operations research support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept, to fielded product, through in-service improvements, and ultimately to product retirement.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Operations Research, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mathematics
  • 6 years of experience (Masters with 4 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 2 years exprience) in the following areas:
  • Documented simulation experience using scripting languages Python and the simulation tool Brawler in a modeling & simulation position and/or project.
  • Documented experience in software development, object oriented design using C/C++, and/or MATLAB numerical computing experience in either Unix or Linux computing environments
  • Documented work and/or academic experience designing digital system models and simulations, including the ability to apply knowledge of physics, random variables and their application to modeling and analysis
  • Documented academic or work experience with Debugging/Analysis methodologies in optimizing application performance
  • Documented work and/or academic experience in system engineering and analysis
  • Documented work experience interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines
  • An existing Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Desired Education, Experience and Skills:

  • An existing Top Secret security clearance
  • Masters’ degree in Operations Research, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics preferred
  • Experience in utilizing the simulation tool Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM)
  • Experience in software requirements development
  • Experience in software design, integration, and test
  • Experience communicating and interacting with government counterparts
  • Experience with distributed simulation protocols such as DIS, HLA or TENA
  • Experience using STL and Boost Libraries
  • Experience with software build systems

Clearance Requirement:

  • Candidates must have Secret security clearance prior to starting work
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance to continue work
  • Current Top Secret Department of Defense clearance preferred
