MTM, Inc. continues to grow and we are seeking a Manager, Asset & Inventory Control!

The Manager, Asset & Inventory Control is a member of the MTM finance department that owns the complete product lifecycle of all company assets and inventory. The role will be responsible for managing and directing members of the Asset and Inventory Control team to: procure, receive, distribute, repair, track, dispose, and store all company assets and inventory.

The Manager, Asset & Inventory Control will lead the negotiation process, ROI analysis, sourcing procedures of new and existing suppliers and will review vendor partnerships to identify cost saving opportunities to ensure MTM is receiving the greatest possible value from each asset category. The Manager, Asset & Inventory Control is responsible for implementing new purchasing and inventory management systems that will produce an auditable inventory control process and will develop and implement MTM’s Asset and Inventory Control Policy.

This position is located at our office in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach, and develop individuals within the inventory management team
  • Manage all programs associated with the requisition, distribution, storage and control of company assets
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance of MTM’s Asset and Inventory Control Policy for identifying, tracking, transferring, reporting, and as requested, disposing of inventoried assets
  • Implement and maintain PO tracking with Workday (ERP) for new and existing capital and non-capital fixed assets including asset identification, physical count, and departmental equipment custodians
  • Manage, maintain and expand new and existing relationships with national and global suppliers
  • Meet with customers to access needs, risks, goals, asset and inventory status, and progress
  • Leverage supplier data, such as materials costs, on-hand inventory, customer data, and sales history to improve planning and forecasting for the procurement and distribution of inventory
  • Research, negotiate and secure advantageous pricing agreements for critical supply chain assets
  • Validate and review purchasing contracts and policies with respective inventory suppliers
  • Analyze existing asset data to identify trends, gaps and areas where MTM could improve costs and/or gain additional supply chain efficiency
  • Conduct quarterly supplier KPI reviews to analyze service, quality, process, procedure, and identify areas of concern and establish guidelines for performance improvement
  • Manage company cost saving initiatives and programs that will reduce asset and inventory auditing efforts while improving asset inventory accuracy to 99.9%
  • Continually focuses on process improvement and automation, increasing MTM’s ability to scale and leverage new and existing infrastructure to improve inventory management control and delivery systems
  • Manages all purchasing data and documents within 3rd party tracking systems
  • Creates dashboards and reports of inventoried assets for management and key stakeholder review
  • Sets performance standards for critical supply chain vendors and implement appropriate metrics to monitor compliance and assess chargebacks and credits
  • Reduce out of contract purchases by establishing guidelines for the use of company credit cards to procure assets
  • Partner with People & Culture to hold employees accountable for MTM’s assets purchasing procedures, provide training, and communication to the organization when needed
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to improve payment terms, establish direct bill relationships, and audit employee credit card purchases
  • Lead special projects and implementations as required by management
  • Evaluate new asset management software tools to improve asset traceability and maintain ownership history of capital equipment
  • Lead quarterly physical audits and performs system reconciliations as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain Management
  • MBA, preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, procurement, and/or supply chain industry
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or lead role
  • Communication and change management experience
  • Experience in iterative process and technology development and project deployment
  • Certified Purchasing Professional, preferred
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional, preferred
  • Certified in Advanced Excel Applications, preferred

Competency Based Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge maintaining inventory control and reporting software (Workday, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of theories, principles and concepts of data management, information systems management or related field
  • Skilled in analyzing information, problems, practices, or procedures to provide guidance in the areas of asset management or related field
  • Skilled in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct reports and recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage and maintain a large number of supplier relationships
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel Applications
  • Detail oriented and ethical
  • Well-developed negotiation skills
  • Strong change management skills
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • An analytical mind with strong business acumen
