Regional Product Manager - Symantec Lindon, UT More (-9) Apply Apply with LinkedIn View Application More (-9) Job title: Senior Regional Product Manager Department Overview:   The Regional Product Management Team partners with various Customers, Partners and Sales teams (Enterprise, ISO, Channel, Public Sector, etc.) to ensure their product success by ensuring their current and future needs are met by Symantec solutions. Responsibilities: The Regional Product Manager will work as a member of the extended Product Management team to provide in-depth technical knowledge, Roadmap and strategy discussions, and general Product Solutions Support both pre and post sales. You will deliver product presentations and demonstrations internally and externally on all relevant Symantec solutions. Coordinates with Product Management, Marketing and Sales to ensure that Symantec initiatives are timely and appropriate for current end user and/or market demand. The RPM is responsible for partner satisfaction regarding technical aspects of initiatives. Articulate and demonstrate Symantec solutions, influence customer’s technical requirements in partnership with the Product Management, and position products relative to competition.  Presentations and customer interaction are a critical part of this position. The Regional Product Manager should recognize new business opportunities in the account, helping the Symantec Account teams to generate and maintain a revenue pipeline.  Utilize Symantec sales processes to develop account plans in partnership with the sales team.  This position will require travel throughout an assigned region, and may call for travel with little advance notice.  In addition to the activities assigned above it is expected that the RPM will work in concert with RPM and Sales Management to maintain and support a regional plan for the customers in their respective region. Qualifications:  • Communicates effectively with customers, partners, peers, and management. Able to reduce complex technical concepts into simple, easy to understand terms and explanations. • Serves as active team member. Shows a willingness to share knowledge and assist team members, partners, and customers. • Able to plan and subsequently manage a complex project, establishing a project plan focused at appropriate levels, galvanizing and managing resources, keeping project on track, delivering as committed. • Takes the initiative to respond to issues outside scope of own job. Generates ideas that benefit other team members. Willing to share knowledge and experience with others. Proactively pursues own development. Moderate supervision required in the initial allocation of tasks, then demonstrates increased confidence and is able to work with only occasional assistance. Knows when help is required in order to achieve goals. • Has good understanding of the business and operational challenges facing potential customers. Can work with the sales team to identify and understand the critical business influencers within an account. Clear understanding of the sales process and value add to that process. Minimal supervision required with respect to providing SYMANTEC solutions and ROI analysis. • Motivates others through own commitment and dedication. • 8-10 year’s industry experience required/4-6 year’s vendor SE or PM experience preferred. Desired Skills • In depth knowledge of the Systems Management Industry. Knowledge of competitive products for each of the Symantec products which you will represent. • Proficient System Administration skills in one or more of the following: AIX, HPUX, Solaris, Linux, Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. • Functional understanding of database architecture (Specific Oracle, SQL, DB2, Notes or Exchange experience) • Symantec Altiris Solutions product knowledge (Systems Management, Patch, Asset and Helpdesk, Backup & Infrastructure, Data Center Mgmt ) o Concepts and architecture o Hands on experience in two or more of the above • Knowledge of IP network architectures • Strong understanding of the Systems Management landscape at large and small companies and how to map Symantec solutions and services • Strong written and interpersonal skills. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent is preferred ====================​====================​ Symantec is an equal opportunity employer.
