About the team

The Payments & Fraud teams are building a world-class payments infrastructure to offer our customers the optimal payment experience while minimizing the impact of fraud. The growing cross-functional team is focusing on expanding the e-commerce platform with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and profitability, with real-time impact on the entire business.

You will be responsible for defining the technical details and lead the team to build and scale the payments platform and the services related to Wayfair’s network of external payment partners. You will have the opportunity to shape the future development of the payment processing backbone that powers over $10B in transactions every year, while maintaining a technical relationship with key business stakeholders and third party payments providers to ensure effective and efficient collaboration.

What You’ll Need

  • A technical background, with experience as an engineer, data scientist, or in payments operations, working on similar platform integrations and restructuring

  • Previous experience in the Payments domain.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-quality platform products at scale
  • Ability to drive the team to build new products, iterate quickly from the ideation phase through to launch, and outline how your choices solved problems and moved specific KPIs
  • Lead while working in direct contact with engineers, keeping them inspired, motivated and engaged, providing clear requirements and success criteria for your product features
  • A global payments perspective, with a clear understanding of alternative payment methods outside of credit cards (especially within the DACH region) is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English
