Who You'll Work With

You will be based in Beijing as part of our China Academy. China Academy is one of McKinsey’s most exciting new ventures devoted to developing online/offline capability building solutions for Chinese companies with the vision to help our clients at scale, not only enable senior leadership, but also mid-level and/or frontline management, to improve capability and unlock organization potential.

McKinsey has been deeply cultivating the Greater China market for about 30 years. With our classic methodology and deep industry insight, we helped thousands of clients to grow and develop during the past 3 decades. 

The mission and impact aspiration of the team is to develop McKinsey-standard solution portfolios (i.e. corporate training courses) to as to support client’s sustainable capability building; lead end-to-end development of certain training courses and ensure a right delivery to meet client’s needs, by mobilizing or influencing team & client; enhance brand image and reputation among corporate training industry and dedicated to enlarge frequent user base of dedicated solution; support client service team to deliver proposal to clients on capability building programs and ensure the asset delivered impact as expected; and to develop Corporate Academy strategy and implementation plan that fits for client’s real context.

What You'll Do

You will work closely with senior leadership, product owners, SMEs, internal / external partners and leading professionals in this field, leverage trending eLearning development technologies to build high quality products for a variety of clients.

In this role, you will create UX documentation (story boards, wireframes, transaction flows, navigation models, interaction specifications, etc.) to communicate concepts and designs, build prototypes and user tests to validate product features and user behaviors, bringing innovative ideas to life at early stage, work to drive clarity and closure. You will design and develop eLearning courseware with appropriate digital tools and programming languages, and clearly articulate design needs and decisions to key stakeholders.

You will collaborate with other delivery team within and cross-organization to problem-solve technical challenges and maintain a level of design consistency and coherence across products, help chief instructional designer define both long and short-term curriculum plan and roadmap, and ensure exceptional quality and learning experience is reflected in course content and holistic products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/design or equivalent
  • 3+ year hands-on working experience in software design and development
  • Excellent skills in frontend development. Proficient using HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, popular frameworks and libraries (e.g. Vue.js, React), common design patterns and styles (e.g. RWD, PWA) to build modern web applications
  • Related skills in graphic design, UI/UX design is a plus
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, agile team working process and practices, such as MVP, TDD
  • Track record as entrepreneurial self-starter who is self-motivated, but also a team player with professional presence
