Performance Test Analyst (SPLUNK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics)

Business Description:

The Testing Center of Excellence provides quality assurance services to our Development and Business counterparts. Our coverage includes functional, automation and performance testing activities, as well as tool support and metrics generation. We leverage leading technologies and processes to achieve comprehensive test coverage and release level reporting. Our products range from internal to consumer facing to business-oriented applications.

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

1. 5+years of related performance test experience.
2. Develops and executes on Performance assessment needs. This will include infrastructure assessment as well as UI assessment.
3. Develops and executes formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Leads and participates in test planning and quality review sessions. Oversees the writing of test cases/scripts. 
4. Performs testing activities to include: design and create load models and scripts, environment readiness verification, scripting, execution, debugging and reporting tasks.
5. Monitors and executes performance test activities for large sized projects. Works with Technical and Business groups to define the scope of testing required. Researches new tools and testing approaches, and executes upon/monitoring the implementation of such items. 
6. Proficiency in diagnosing performance bottlenecks across application tiers using monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, SPLUNK).
7. Ability to identify, implement and work with application, database and infrastructure monitoring tools in analysing performance.
8. Experience using test and defect management tools such as JIRA, RTC or their equivalent.
9. Works with multiple programs/systems on projects of moderate complexity. Serves as a project team member. Provides technical leadership, mentoring to less experienced individuals. Oversees training of team members.
10. Works independently with senior management and technical groups globally. Utilization of business, functional and/or technical expertise to effectively develop and execute the test strategy and planning activities.

Required Qualifications:

Education: 

1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications.

Preferred domain/Industry:

1. Financial services/loan, credit card systems, B2B, CSR and consumer facing applications.
2. High volume processing and reporting systems.
3. Web, Restful Web Services, xml/vxml/json, mobile apps

Essential Skills

1. HP Load Runner, IBM Rational Performance Tester, SoapUI, Postman, jMeter/BlazeMeter, Putty, browsers, thick clients, WireShark/Fiddler
2. Monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Dynatrace. Nice to haves: (Elk, Grafana)
3. Message Protocols: ISO messages, http, soap, xml/vxml, MQ, socket
4. Sharepoint, Confluence, Jira, CLM
5. Drives continuous improvement through all processes, including but not limited to, team standards, test planning, resourcing and test execution, as well as debugging, metric collection, and reporting.
6. Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
7. Basic programming knowledge or applying programming logic (Java, C, C++) in order to effectively trouble shoot defects that arise. 

Desirable Skills

1. Extensive knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, network) and their application to business functions/processes.
2. Informed and cognizant of the key processes in the business and the business rules that impact the development and/or implementation of information systems.
3. Subject Matter expert in mainframe and/or distributed testing/automation/performance activities.
