Engineering Intern - Summer 2024

(flexibility on dates, typically July-September)

Onsite - Stockport

Summary

The Engineering Intern will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team on various assignments encompassing a well-defined set of tasks requiring fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and concepts. The Engineering Intern will assist with planning and coordination of operations processes for assigned product(s); design new systems and processes for the improvement of new & existing products or for the introduction of new products. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Working with development and manufacturing engineers to assess new manufacturing processes and develop effective work instructions for introduction of new products into manufacturing.
  • Participate with other engineers to interpret design specifications in support of new and existing product development initiatives.
  • Develop test plans, conduct testing and document results to ensure product performance requirements are met.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical components and systems.

General Tasks

  • Maintain compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Student working toward Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Strong communication skills to be able to collaborate and present solutions clearly.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Problem Solving skills/Logical thinker.
  • Good pattern recognition/Spotting data trends.
  • Team worker with a strong collaborative approach.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
