Community Action Manager

Area: Perinatal, Fetal Infant Mortality Review

Shift: Full-time, 1.0 FTE / 8-hour shifts / Some weekends required 

Community Action Manager Job Summary:

The Community Action Manager will help develop and oversee the FIMR (Fetal Infant Mortality Review) Community Action Team. This individual will set the tone for community collaboration and work directly with varying organizations throughout the Chicagoland area to determine key members with political will, financial resources and those who can define a community perspective on how best to create the desired change in the community related to Fetal Infant Mortality. The Community Action Manager will help develop methods to keep key issues related to Fetal Infant Mortality Review findings and actions in the public’s eye and create an action plan as ongoing means to document and track progress throughout the community.

Community Action Manager Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Policy Administration, Social Work, or a related discipline such as sociology, organizational psychology, public health nursing, or health communications required; OR BA/BS plus 2 years of equivalent experience in public health program coordination, management and/or community organizing
  • Must hold a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
  • Must be comfortable with frequent, daily travel throughout the Chicagoland area
