Coordinate, monitor, and process specific back office function as assigned to individual.
Provide member and internal client support for checking accounts and ACH activity. In addition, provide support for miscellaneous or automated mail, Fed adjustments, returned deposits, EFT processing, stop payments, payroll, levies, subpoenas, Savings Bonds, orders office supplies, post mail and report exceptions. Maintain records and tracking for tasks assigned.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Respond to a variety of telephone and written inquiries, research problems, and provide information to internal and external clients.
Review and research entries related to General Ledger(s) assigned to the department. Ensure entries are cleared in a timely manner. Research and clear outstanding entries.
Communicate Credit Union policies, products and services to members, other financial institutions and vendors as necessary.
Handle routine processing of Journals, error resolution and other appropriate source documents as they relate to specific assignment.
Distribute daily work to departments/branch operations, order office supplies for the department, and open, distribute, and process mail.
Assist with cross-training programs and establishment of standard operating procedures.
Provide back-up support to all positions within the department and completes special projects as assigned.
Interacts with Federal Reserve Bank, Correspondent Banks, and Credit Unions, and other departments including Accounting, Item Processing, Member Services, and other departments to resolve problems that may occur with EFT and US mail.
Maintain continuing education to ensure operating and Credit Union policies are current and conform to government regulations and third party regulations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School education required and two to four year previous experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Clerical/accounting experience, 10 key/finger dexterity, general business writing skills, effective communication skills, both written and oral, good organizational skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment, and professional conduct and appearance.
Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Fed Line, ChexSystems, Symitar, Wescom Intranet and the Internet.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
