Amazon Web Services is seeking a Product Manager - Technical to become part of a global innovations team, responsible for the design and new technologies for our rapidly expanding data center footprint. This position is based out of Seattle, WA.

Infrastructure product teams at Amazon work to design resilient, cost effective infrastructure solutions that are wide-ranging in scope and high-impact upon delivery. As product managers and engineers at Amazon, we are responsible for achieving world-class uptime for our customers. We are looking for a product manager with hands-on experience with developing highly resilient, fast deploy, modular datacenter infrastructure. If you have a background in design and construction of utility plants, understand critical equipment needs for a data center and constructability of varying designs; you may be a good fit. You must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. As a product manager, you will be responsible for conducting research (internal and external) to understand target audience needs and issues, and find innovative solutions for existing and new datacenter infrastructure. You will be relied on as a subject matter expert in the field of product strategy, product development and maintenance through its life cycle and long-term product sustainability.

Amazon has a global presence. Travel will occasionally be necessary but should not be more than 10%. International support will be part of the job, and some international travel may be necessary. Key

Responsibilities:

  • Lead datacenter infrastructure product development from concept to at-scale production
  • Take ownership of all aspects of a product line and coordinate product development activities across various teams
  • Develop product requirements and execution strategy, conduct user studies, perform data driven analyses and develop the value proposition for the product under development, and prioritize product features
  • Lead product roadmap and strategy for global customers using Infrastructure products
  • Collaborate with Amazon Principals to create strategies by which technology will be developed or adapted to meet market needs and leverage opportunities. (e.g., Buy/Build decisions)
  • Develop product features and deployment strategies to improve profitability and penetration in new applications
  • Work closely with senior management and engineers to deliver innovative software products
  • Create buy-in for product vision, and prepare, maintain, and evangelize the product roadmap that defines product enhancements for short- and long-term releases
  • Develop detailed data driven business requirements that can be used to create product specifications and designs
  • Work with cross-functional groups internal to Amazon and external groups like manufacturers, vendors, and contractors
  • Form global teams to build and enhance products from ideas, and help develop new concepts based on industry research, customer need and business value proposition
  • Develop and deploy key product messages and communication strategies for the product line (release notes, product demonstrations, and improvement reports)
  • Drive projects, product and feature launches and coordinate release plans for internal teams
  • Manage delivery of current products concurrently with future product planning and development
