Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Mentor direct reports by being a role model for the team and develop a strong sense of shared team vision
  • Manage overall operations of payrolls for between 6-10 countries primarily in EMEA (this will likely expand over time)
  • Ensure accurately and timely processing of payroll with strong data integrity
  • Responsible for ensuring all payroll regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time
  • Evaluate and enforce practices to support compliance in each country
  • Maintain a strong control environment, including protection of employee related data
  • Partner with other Workday teams to design and implement cross-functional process improvements, uptake new system functionality and support initiatives that scale with business growth.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to resolve payroll issues
  • Evaluate and ensure maintenance of policies and procedures for third-party payroll team
  • Oversee internal and cross-functional projects on the third-party payroll team. Contribute prioritization and make commitments to the cross-functional project roadmap
  • Create and maintain visibility to operational and project status for leadership

Requirements for a successful application

  • 10+ years of increasing experience in a high growth or public company, at least +2 years in a team lead / manager function in international payroll
  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in a business discipline
  • Significant experience effectively leading projects 
  • Detail oriented, accurate and organized
  • Ability to prioritize and work with a sense of urgency
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Shows initiative, flexibility and follow-through
  • Customer service focused, and solution oriented
  • Ability to work cross-culturally with internal and external partners in other countries
  • Experience in applying concepts for appropriate problem-solving and decision-making
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting, HCM and payroll systems
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
