Assistant Director- Gift & Estate Planning - (STA011683)

Description

Provides a high level of knowledge and expertise in areas of gift and estate planning.

  1. Partners with executors, attorneys and family members regarding their estate management needs, addressing specific questions in the areas of philanthropic planning and wealth transfer.
  2. Manages probate work at the end of University of Houston System (UHS) donors' lives to ensure charitable gifts are executed and allocated as intended.
  3. Assists benefactors and their attorneys, CPAs, and other advisors with research regarding tax, estate planning, and financial implications of various gift structures.
  4. Works closely with benefactors and their advisors to select and implement the use of appropriate gift planning vehicles to maximize the gift to the University and the tax advantages of the benefactor.
  5. Prepares and reviews gift documentation with the assistance of Gift Planning support staff including but not limited to trust agreements, gift agreements, and bequest provisions.
  6. Enhances operational efficiency in Gift & Estate Planning.
  7. Ensures that all systems and processes from gift documentation to systems reporting are accurate and tailored to the standards of the UHS Office of Gift & Estate Planning.
  8. Manages certain financial and administrative functions of the Gift Planning Office.
  9. Consults, advises and trains collaborative partners, staff, volunteers and professional advisors on deferred giving practices and procedures.
  10. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) year of directly job-related experience.

Salary: $5,135.00 - $6,674.00
