Job Description

Model Maker

The Prototype Workshop has the mandate to support all the different MEGA Brand’s departments in the development of their products line by building prototypes for their presentations. From sketch validation model or a preliminary plan provided by design, the model maker will be called upon to construct or copy a model, to scale and color match, offering a real 3D object of a conceptual toys.

Depending on requirements and requests, the prototype will be built using a variety of materials, such as 3D printing part, styrene, resin, etc. The model maker will master the various techniques used in his or her work: finishing sanding, sculpture, molding, painting and others. He or she will also be called upon to work with various machines.

Working with a team of several model makers and reporting to the team leader, the model maker should have experience in a manual and artistic task. In addition, he should be:

  • Attentive to detail
  • Autonomous
  • Resourceful
  • Dynamic
  • Enjoy being a team worker
  • Available
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Experience in electronic and mechanism field an asset.
  • Bilingual (French, English)

In addition, the model maker will be requiring to work with Creative Shop, whose main mandate is to support the marketing action of the company. The achieve that, the candidate should have a 3D mobilization software knowledge and can communicate idea easily by sketch. Graduate from industrial and environmental design is an advantage.
