The Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking an individual for a full-time clinical Assistant or Associate Professor appointment on the Master Clinician or Academic track, based on individual qualifications.

About the Appointment:

  • Clinical activities expected of a Pediatric General Surgeon based primarily at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital and the M Health Fairview East Region with additional sites located within the Twin Cities.
  • The position will require supervising, mentoring and teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
  • Full participation in departmental activities including but not limited to grand rounds, CEU quality meetings, and faculty meetings.
  • Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.

Our clinic and pediatric specialists, located on the University of Minnesota campus, are part of the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.

We offer a multidisciplinary approach to care, with a team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, child family life specialists and other professionals who are especially attuned to the medical and emotional needs of young people.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME General Surgery residency and Pediatric Surgery fellowship training program
  • Board eligible/certified in Pediatric Surgery
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing quality and compassionate patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegiality with staff and partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated record of basic, translational, or clinical research experience
