Electric Motor Mechanical Design Engineer

Turntide Technologies is helping turn the tide on climate change with a revolutionary Platform for Sustainable Operations that drives down energy consumption and operating costs in buildings, agriculture, and electric transport. Our patented hardware and intelligent software are revolutionizing the $100 billion electric motor industry with a new platform so efficient, reliable, and adaptable that it reduces energy use by more than half. Our larger mission is to replace all the world’s motors with intelligent, optimal-efficiency systems so every watt is worthwhile for humanity. We’re looking for curious, intelligent, collaborative people from diverse backgrounds who want to make a real impact on the sustainability of our planet.

The Job

We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in mechanical design, specifically in the design of electromechanical systems, vibration and thermal analysis, and metal fabrication. You’re familiar with best practices including material selection, manufacturing processes, numerical analysis, and common design traits. You have a strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy getting your hands dirty. You’re flexible and adaptable, and want to join a dynamic, collaborative, fast-paced team.

Own and drive the overall mechanical design from concept development, prototype testing through device validation. Perform advanced engineering calculations, simulations, and validations to ensure the products meet mechanical, thermal, and structural design requirements. Create complete drawing and documentation packages for vendors and manufacturers. Optimize the designs for materials, thermal management, reliability, DFM, FMEA, performance and cost. Create customized designs of our standard products to meet specific applications. Manage and maintain the designs throughout the product life cycle with updates, upgrades, and proper revision controls.

At this point, we hope you're feeling excited about the job description you’re reading. Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
