The opportunity

As an Events and Sponsorship Manager in the Marketing & Activation team, you will play a key role in helping to achieve our firmwide strategic objectives by developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns that help build client relationships, support revenue objectives and enhance the reputation of the firm.

Sitting within the Marketing and Activation team, which is part of the wider Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) function, you will be at the epicentre of where plans turn into action and the rubber hits the road. Our events team is key to designing and delivering high quality events across a broad range of brand / business areas and formats (in-person, virtual, hybrid). You will drive event expertise across all UK brand, marketing and communications programmes more effectively and efficiently, taking on project responsibility for key projects/programmes. This role reports into the Senior Events & Sponsorships Manager and works closely with other members of the BMC function.

This role requires a talented and creative individual to play a key role in building an events strategy and function that sets us apart from our competitors and maximises engagement with both clients and colleagues.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver large scale/complex client-facing and internal events & programmes, working closely with BMC colleagues, internal stakeholders and key suppliers.
  • Drive and embed the EY brand to ensure effective execution in events logistics and production
  • Apply the firm’s visual identity and brand messaging to all marketing activities
  • Work closely with the operations team to manage the risk approval processes through established EY systems
  • Ensures all aspects of event production are efficient and effective including: room/venue bookings, catering, collateral production, preparation of delegate packs, mailings, registration etc, closely supported by the Events Executives in the hub
  • Work closely BMC colleagues to develop target lists and manage the client invitation process with the support of the offshore and Marketo team
  • Manages negotiations and relationships with external suppliers
  • Develops detailed project plans, ensuring all appropriate channels are utilised effectively, including internal communications, press, ey.com and e-communications
  • Writes communications, ensuring key messages are clear and consistent
  • Use innovative approaches to new ways of working by creating and championing new ideas, channels and tools
  • Work with the offshore team to ensure the Marketo is kept up-to-date
  • Delivers activities within the budgets set and monitors spend.
  • You will also carry out qualitative and quantitative post-event analysis for holistic ROI reporting.
  • Providing subject matter expertise across BMC and to wider business as needed

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum of 7 years’ end-to-end event experience (incl in person, virtual and hybrid) and production management ideally from a financial or professional services background. Alternatively, agency experience of working with large corporate
  • Experience of working in large/matrix organisations, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements
  • Experience of managing virtual and hybrid events.
  • Knowledge of the full spectrum of brand, marketing, and communications disciplines with particular emphasis on marketing automation and digital.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Line management experience
  • Experience in successfully working with media and creative agencies and third parties to deliver innovative events
  • The ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative
  • The flexibility to travel and work outside of contracted office hours
