As a member of the Prepress Squad, you will join a group of highly skilled software engineers building the artwork processing pipelines at a massive scale. We are building industry leading web-based tools that dramatically increase the efficiency of prepress operators and decrease mundane manual tasks. These tools drive significant competitive advantage for Cimpress by bringing down the average time spent on each artwork from already industry leading levels. They are backed by world-class APIs developed by the team for manipulating images and PDFs.

The development team is evenly split between Waltham, Massachusetts and Mumbai, India.

You are someone who can argue the importance of PUTs being idempotent and who knows REST is not only something you do when asleep. You are interested in writing full-stack web applications and want to shape the how frameworks like React and Typescript are used in the team. You write great code and expect the same of others on the team.

As a Software Engineer II, you provide the technical expertise for web technologies, from building new systems to solving new problems. You will be hands on writing beautiful, highly scalable code that will fuel our growth towards $2B in revenue.

Our technology ecosystem contains over a dozen micro-services and growing. In addition, we have a number of web applications for users to interface with these APIs. Our services are C#/Node based, running in AWS. We believe that having a diverse toolbox allows us to solve a larger array of challenges using the right tools, and that smart people will make smart decisions on which tools to use. We’re constantly looking for new and interesting ways to solve problems.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in modern web frameworks (React preferred)
  • Experience with at least one mainstream object-oriented development language, with Java or .NET being preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting software products in a production environment
  • Experience in recent, modern software development and a desire to write (and review) code every day
  • Passion for writing full-stack applications that are deployed at a massive scale
  • Ability to excel on an extremely talented team in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with high volume transactional systems
  • A drive to give customers the best possible experience and to be a part of a leader in the mass customization industry
