Product Strategy
The product manager is responsible for setting a vision and strategy for taking MSI’s software solutions into new regional markets across the globe. Their job is to clearly articulate the business value and to own the strategy along with the roadmap. They must work together with other product managers and development to define and prioritize what is needed to be successful.
Create and manage backlog, roadmap, and vision

Product Visioning
Collecting, curating, and promoting the most relevant ideas into features. Defining which ideas should be promoted to features to achieve key objectives for the product line and business. Soliciting feedback and requests from customers and field teams and ensuring this is seamlessly integrated into the product planning and development processes.
Gather customer and sales feedback and voice of customer
Feature Definition
The product manager defines the features and requirements necessary to deliver a complete product to market. They are responsible for articulating the ‘what’ and coordinating with other product managers and development to determine the ‘when.’
Create user stories and scenarios
Define acceptance criteria, KPIs and SLAs
Go-to-market Support
Responsible for making product decisions and often acts as the lead resource for the rest of the organization when deep product expertise is required. This includes supporting the organizations that help bring the product to market and work directly with customers, including marketing, sales, training and support services.
Help define market offer and structure
Work with enablement organizations to make products orderable and deliverable
Define and drive implementation plans for training, support and deployment requirements for global regions
Facilitate sales and channel training
Assist pre-sales with custom project requests
Define and ensure implementation of GTM assets including demo environments, training materials, and presentations for global regions
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Agile/Scrum experience
Firm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface design.
Deep technical knowledge in software development methodologies.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are a necessity
Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences
Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems
Capable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedback
Strong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that can be understood by developers as well as non-technical staff
Ability to research and analyze product requirements from various stakeholders
High degree of competency with project management, including issues and risk identification and management, tracking; demonstrated strong attention to detail.
Ability to understand market trends, financial data, and customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data.
Experience in Law Enforcement / Public Safety is a plus

Bachelors Degree, MBA or other graduate degree
5+ years progressive experience in engineering or Product Planning/Product Marketing/Product Management
Experience with Law Enforcement / Public Safety industry a plus
Agile/Scrum experience
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
