Motorola Solutions has a successful and expanding business creating two-way radio devices and systems using the TETRA standard for a wide variety of public safety and commercial users across the world.
Reporting to the global TETRA product management lead, this role will see you joining a small geographically diversified team and having a real impact on the future of Motorola’s TETRA business, a key part of our devices organisation. You will be required to:
Plan, organize, drive and facilitate the development of new products and manage them throughout their life
Build business cases both for individual products and overall solutions
Write clear market requirements for products (hardware and software) backed by market research and customer feedback
Measure the success of products, and manage their competitiveness and profitability
Help identify the need for, plan and facilitate end-user research
Research and assess competitors and market data
Develop use cases and translate these into tangible requirements
Prepare and present the product vision to senior management and key stakeholders
Manage a portfolio of devices and software at different lifecycle stages
Collaborate with partners internally and externally to find the right solution elements at the right quality and cost
Develop product launch plans and advise on sales strategy and pricing.
Support the creation of customer experiences and missions as well as tactical roadmap portfolio product missions
Occasional travel for business purposes to visit customers, colleagues and suppliers will be needed. Travelling is expected to be approximately 30-40 days per year.
You will have an important role in the Motorola Solutions organisation and be responsible for the success of products related to our core business. You will be working closely with design and engineering teams as well as partnering with the sales, marketing, operations and strategic teams. Experience:
Essential:
4+ years experience in engineering or Product Planning/Product Marketing/Product Management
Experience successfully launching new products
Experience working directly with customers
Track record of taking ownership of problems and making decisions when faced with uncertainty
Desirable:
Experience working with two-way radio technology or other complex embedded systems
Knowledge of the public safety/law enforcement market
Experience in marketing business-to-business or business-to-government products
Experience managing mission critical products with long lifecycles
Experience working in an Agile environment
Project management and facilitation experience
Market research experience
Skills:
Essential:
Confident and clear communicator, used to presenting to a wide variety of stakeholders
Fluent in written and spoken English
Desirable:
Fluent in another European language, preferably German

2:1 honours degree or equivalent
