Job Description & Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced closures systems practitioner to lead feature ownership of power drive systems and removal doors. You will partner with structures, hardware, electrical, and UX teams to insure customers required features are delivered. With your creative and analytical mind, you will use key insights to deliver the system. Also during the early phase of the program you will lead feature based Failure Mode Analysis, DFMEA, Boundary diagram, and state flow diagram development. You will guide and oversee software and hardware in the loop development and prove out. Additionally, when we get to physical vehicle level development you will lead the verification of the feature to insure it works under all noise factors. As a team leader, you will create impact by collaborating across the product develop organization to insure proper closure system/feature function is seamlessly delivered to the customer.

The closures team is situated in Dearborn, Michigan. The System/Feature owner will possibly have to support vehicle launches in Wayne, Michigan, Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas City, Kansas and/or Dearborn Michigan. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead Power Side closures system/feature including all management reviews including User Experience reviews
  • Creating Functional Safety documentation including: Hazzard Risk Analysis, Functional Safety Concept and Requirements, and Safety Goals
  • Manage existing Core and Program FMA documents including: DFMEA, Boundary Diagram, P-Diagram, Use Case, and Critical and Significant Characteristics
  • Work closely with Ford EESE group on integration of Side closure system into existing electrical architecture. Support all Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop analysis
  • Work closely with side closure Service Supplier on technical issue resolution

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related degree
  • Including Coursework/Internships/co-op: 1+ year of experience with Product development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related degree
  • Power hardware experience
  • Functional specification development
  • Ability to use Catia V5
  • Excellent cross functional communications skills both written and oral
  • Experience with integrating customer requirements into functional deliverables
