About the role 

We’re looking for a Product Design Intern with a passion for design systems to work on our in-house web design system that enables & supports a diverse range of external and internal websites and tools across the company. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with a senior UX product designer.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $28 -55 per hour. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Working with designers on design system enhancements and/or new components as well as ongoing maintenance.
  • Working closely with a core team of designers to ensure best design system practices. 
  • Helping set up and validate processes for how asks made, tracked, design validated/approved and worked on with engineering.
  • Trial, refine and roll out communication around design library updates, capturing changes and impacts to design and development.
  • Onboarding new UX team members to the design system and workflow.
  • Owning your designs and communicate effectively, articulating your design decisions to colleagues from diverse disciplines. 
  • Giving and receiving feedback in regular design critiques from your peers. 
  • Learning a lot about how design systems are practically applied, how they evolve and scale.
