PURPOSE As a data scientist engineer, you will be part of a globally distributed team. You will collaborate with multi-domain business and technology teams. You will experiment with new techniques, challenge current decisioning process and help improve products and create new data insights. You will work with a team of engineers to build robust and scalable ML models, and enable the services to be deployed and integrated into existing or new business workflow(s). The output of a typical deployment of AI/ML could be (a) data sets (b) embedded intelligence (c) visualizations/reports, model scores. You will also build common ML capabilities [re-useable assets, test data sets, generated data sets etc] used across the bank. These capabilities will be delivered in an agile way, on internal code base (mostly open source) - bank follows a test driven, build-validate-deploy approach. RESPONSIBILITIES • AI/ML frameworks and automation services (scripts, procedures, processes, tools) • Processing and analytic applications using Spark, Apache Beam – distributed, high throughput data pipelines • Innovate new ways of managing, transforming and validating data • Ensure code paths are unit tested, defect free and integration tested (bank has a devops process that the engineer needs to learn and adopt: building reliable and auditable CI/CD deployment pipeline) KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Minimum Qualifications • Master's degree in a computer science, quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics) or equivalent practical experience. • 2 years of work experience in data analysis. • Experience with statistical software (e.g. R, Python, MATLAB, pandas ) and database languages (e.g. SQL) • Exposure/competence with Agile Development approach Preferred Qualifications • 4 years of work experience including expertise in statistical data analysis using modern tool stack • Comfortable with cloud-native, cloud-ready environments at least one of the major cloud providers (AWS,GCP, Azure machine learning) • Applied experience with machine learning on big data • Experience in articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data and being able to point out new data requirements • Demonstrating • Financial services experience • Ability to lead/coach team members & willingness to learn new techniques General Requirements • Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills in English • Open to working in areas outside of your comfort zone, experimenting with new technologies and techniques • Able to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment • Comfortable working in a corporate environment • Collaborate with cross-functional teams • Excellent problem-solving skills, open to challenges • Critical thinking and communication skills Reports Directly to: Head, Data Strategy & Architecture Apply now to join the Bank for those with big career ambitions.
