Job Summary

This position is located at CAMP PENDLETON, CA . Candidates selected for this position will serve as a SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR SPECIALIST NF-3.

Major Duties

Under the direction of the Special Events Manager, responsible for the assistance, administration, and execution of the MCCS Special Events Program, with other installations in the region. Works with Special Events Managers and other respective Divisions to maintain annual calendar of MCCS events. Administers and monitors budget expenses, marketing collateral, procurement contracts, sponsorship dollars and in-kind product associated with special events to ensure program goals are being met in a cost effective manner. Provides detailed accounting of financial requirements to Special Events Manager for budgeting purposes and maintaining fiscal records for each event. Works with a variety of MCCS divisions to ensure their attendance at events when appropriate.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. 

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Three years of experience that demonstrates work experience in marketing or related field. Strong computer skills, strong writing, oral communication, negotiation, and sales skills are a must. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting to 20 lbs. may be required.

1. Furnish a copy of the PCS orders with reporting date to the new duty station and authorized move with spouse. If the spouse is not listed on the PCS orders, the spouse must provide documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, valid military ID, etc.) verifying marriage prior to PCS orders (must have been married to the military sponsor before relocation to the new duty station).

3. For spouses with current or prior Federal service, submit a copy of the most recent performance appraisal rating and, if applicable, documentation of appointment eligibility.
