The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for Engineering and Project Administration activities related to product development projects. He/she plays a leadership role in the completion of Engineering Analysis, including Thermal, Electromagnetic, Dynamic, and Structural, to insure the adequate performance, quality, and reliability of the product, as well as compliance to specific ratings, product specifications and standards requirements. The Senior Mechanical Engineer has a recognized area of expertise and participates in the technical development of other engineers as needed.

  • Leads PEP activities related to engineering and Project Administration, such as the coordination with cross-functional team members (Adv. Manufacturing, Adv. Quality, Program Management, Marketing), coordination with Companion Projects, development of final product specifications, FMEA, PFMEA, kick-off meetings, project reports, prototype requests, Risk Analysis, testing and compliance to standards.
  • Coordinates project scheduling and planning, safety reviews, resource allocation with Engineering Management.
  • Responsible for Engineering Analysis activities, including Thermal, Electromagnetic, Dynamical and Structural, to insure the adequate performance, quality and reliability of the product, as well as compliance to ratings, product specifications and standard requirements.
  • Supports design activities such as brainstorming, database management and development, design/peer reviews, and general analysis, including tolerance analysis.
  • Considers Manufacturing needs including Design for Moldability, Design for Assembly, Prototyping, Supplier Involvement.
  • Responsible for the creation and validation of CAD models and drawings.
  • Responsible for the validation of FAIR and Pilot Run reviews.
  • Responsible for the validation of product documentation, including drawings, BOM, certifications, part numbers, ECN, and others as needed.
  • Reviews technical reports and analyses performed by engineering personnel.
  • Develops Design and Analysis methodologies and Best Practices.
  • Guides and mentors engineers in his/her technical area of expertise, as well as in Project Management.
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or related field. MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience
  • English (communication and negotiation level) 95% (TOEFL 600)

  • This position is for strong technical Mechanical Engineering majors who are interested on new product development engineering for molded case circuit breakers, power circuit breakers and their accessories. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Functional design and analysis of circuit breakers
  • Lead designers and/or engineers on the development of circuit breaker products and accessories
  • Create new concepts for products satisfying marketing specification
  • Create engineering specification
  • Coordinate prototype build ups from the model shop
  • Engineering materials selection
  • Tolerance Analysis of components and assemblies
  • Create DFMEA and participate on PFMEA and AFMEA
  • Fault tree/Risk analysis
  • Verification and validation test plans
  • Creation of robust new product designs and their release into mass production.
