Who are we hiring?

As a member of the Internal Audit organization, the Manager, Internal Audit will work directly with the Director, Internal Audit to coordinate certain projects in the annual Internal Audit Project Plan. In addition, the Manager, Internal Audit will oversee and supervise the testing of internal controls over financial reporting to comply with MSG’s SOX 404 requirements. Specifically, the Manager, Internal Audit will review the work performed by our co-sourcing team to ensure their work meets the standards of the internal audit department and manage information requests made of the process owners to proactively manage any delays. The Manager, Internal Audit may also perform or oversee procedures to assist the external auditors in their audit of MSG’s financial statements and any other audits of the organization’s operations.

What will you do?

  • Plan and conduct special project audits or audits noted in the Internal Audit Project Plan, including organizing audit program steps, information requests of the process owners, and supporting evidence in workpapers (40% of time).
  • Supervise the testing of various process areas in the SOX 404 assessment process including reviewing the work performed by the co-sourcing team and managing information requests of the process owners. (40% of time).
  • Manage and train student associate/staff resources (20% of time).
  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in business processes and internal controls and provide constructive and practical recommendations.
  • Write clear, concise, and constructive findings based on facts, severity, and potential impact.
  • Manage timeline and deadlines for specific projects and areas of testing.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study with 4-6 years of audit or related (accounting, financial reporting) experience. Big 4 public accounting experience a plus.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor) preferred.
  • A strong understanding of financial, operational, and IT General Computing (ITGC) controls.
  • Ability to critically analyze and assess the adequacy of internal controls and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with the requirements of SOX 404 and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and analytical skills with attention to detail and professional skepticism.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates high professional ethics and dependability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
