DESCRIPTION

Japan Store Tech team is seeking a dedicated Software Development Engineer to join our team and build infrastructure to support science applications.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work with Product Managers, Scientists, Software Development Managers and partner teams across the company to develop, test, and deploy infrastructure supporting science models. This requires leveraging sophisticated distributed systems, big data, machine learning and LLM technologies. Successful candidates will have a passion for innovation, interest in advanced technology, and excitement about working in a high-impact domain.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Scientists, and partner teams to understand requirements and business cases, and distill them into an engineering solution. You will use this understanding and knowledge to influence multiple software engineering teams to build scalable infrastructure to empower our scientists to train and deliver models. You will also influence our overall strategy, drive the team’s roadmap, and develop junior engineers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
