Job Description Summary: 

The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems (also known as the Villanova Urban Stormwater Partnership) is hiring student interns to assist with off campus stormwater monitoring, field testing, and laboratory testing and analysis. The position supports ongoing stormwater management research as part of PennDOT’s I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange Reconstruction Project. The student intern would complete lab and/or field work to support stormwater sampling and flow and soil measurements. Laboratory work includes soil classification testing, data management and analysis, maintaining a safe and clean lab, and preparing samples and equipment. Field work may include assisting graduate students with maintaining field sites, collecting samples, installing/maintaining equipment, and infiltration testing.

Requirements: 

Attention to detail; able to follow directions; science or engineering major preferred. Previous lab experience a plus. Critical thinking skills in order to work safely in the lab and field.

Additional Information:

Physical Demands Summary:Must be willing to complete repetitive tasks in the lab and/or field and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in uncomfortable field conditions such as extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or rain. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Wage Rate: $15
