Responsibilities

  • Utilize extensive vehicle telemetry data to extract valuable insights regarding product quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop cutting-edge front-end tools and intuitive dashboards to bring data accessibility to a whole new level across the company, enabling stakeholders to easily interact with and derive insights from complex datasets.
  • Conduct methodical research on algorithms, with a focus on prototyping, validation, and iterative improvement, while maintaining a practical approach to technological advancements.
  • Act as a respected technical authority, providing pragmatic guidance on current and future technology decisions aligned with our company's objectives.
  • Apply deep business and operational understanding to technology choices, ensuring a balanced approach that efficiently meets the company's needs.
  • Foster collaboration among engineering peers by creating well-structured, adaptable designs and code that promote teamwork and practical solutions.
  • Facilitate consensus during complex technical discussions, ensuring a productive and cooperative working environment is maintained.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering, math, physics, computer science or other quantitative discipline 
  • 4+ years of industry experience in a data science or software engineering role or Ph.D. 
  • Expert level knowledge and experience with Python and Apache Spark 
  • Proven experience leveraging the frontend tech stack (React query, NextJS, TypeScript, etc).
  • A strong understanding of best practices for modern web apps and APIs
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced and constantly changing development environment
  • Outstanding team player with great communication skills that can build team consensus 
  • Passionately motivated to take ideas from development validation to a verified product
  • Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it
  • Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed and make things happen 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software-defined vehicles or similarly complex systems 
  • Experience in the field of prognostics or field reliability engineering 
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS/GCP with terraform
