Aecon Green Energy a leading player in the dynamic and rapidly growing green energy industry, specializing in sustainable solutions such as solar energy, electric vehicles, battery storage, and more. We are committed to driving positive environmental change through innovative technologies and services. As we continue to expand our operations and influence in the green energy sector, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Inventory and Supply Chain Manager to join our team.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of our operations, overseeing warehouses across the Greater Toronto Area and Southwestern Ontario. Your primary focus will be managing hardware products and ensuring the proper management of inventory and the supply chain for our high-volume business. You'll be required to roll up your sleeves, both with our warehouse associates and within our systems, to maintain a seamless and efficient operation. Additionally, you will lead a team of dedicated individuals who will look to you for guidance and direction.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Create a supply chain plan in line with our business goals. Pinpoint areas for improvement, cost-saving, and risk control.
  • Forge strong bonds with main suppliers and negotiate the best terms. Regularly review supplier output and seek enhancements.
  • Adopt smart inventory practices to balance stock levels and costs. Prioritize accurate demand predictions and stock refilling.
  • Direct timely, cost-wise material transportation. Partner with logistics teams to shorten lead times.
  • Examine and trim supply chain expenses. Track these savings using key metrics.
  • Craft strategies to handle supply chain challenges, spanning from supplier issues to market shifts.
  • Work hand-in-hand with departments like production and finance, ensuring supply chain goals mesh with company targets. Boost inter-department communication.
  • Champion efficiency in the supply chain using lean methods and top practices.
  • Abide by industry norms and integrate sustainability and ethical sourcing.
  • Guide and inspire the supply chain team, emphasizing excellence, responsibility, and unity.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, procurement practices, and logistics operations.
  • Experience with green energy products – HVAC, solar, storage either one is a must.
  • Demonstrated track record in optimizing supply chain processes and driving efficiency improvements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Masters in related field is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in leading supply chain functions, preferably in renewable energy or related industry.
  • Experience in supplier management, negotiations, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with inventory management techniques, demand forecasting, and supply planning.
