Dexian has an immediate opportunity available for a Network Administrator. The Network Administrator is responsible for management of all centralized network technologies. This technology includes the various networking environments and all other technologies classified as a Networking technology, primarily Cisco and Brocade.

The Network Administrator:

  • Provides technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity.
  • Establishes and implements security requirements and promotes security awareness to mitigate security risks.
  • Monitors information security reports to analyze current threats and ensure implementation of approved security measures.
  • Establishes safeguards to protect information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
  • Identifies and installs patches, modified security files, control files and data access and corrects errors.
  • Manages user’s system access to meet security requirements, performs risk assessments and tests information processing systems to ensure correct functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Implements hardware and software security measures for transmission and storage of information.
  • Documents computer security and emergency measures, policies, procedures, and tests.
  • Leads, mentors and trains others in the implementation of security and access management and change management processes.
  • Oversees system monitoring using approved tools and processes to validate system health.
  • Analyzes system resource trends and gathers customer requirements for capacity planning.
  • Validates backup and restore processes against requirements and recommends improvements as required.
  • Defines and maintains disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Actively participates in and validates the design of the delivery system to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborates with senior personnel on system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Confers with senior personnel, users, and outside vendors to discuss issues such as computer data access needs.
  • Ensures collection, verification, and reporting of IT infrastructure information across distributed systems and multiple support groups.
  • Plans and coordinates system changes by using standardized methods and procedures for efficient and prompt handling of all changes to improve day-to-day operations.
  • Manages baseline configurations.
  • Initiates change requests in accordance with established change procedures to assure compliance with baseline configuration.
  • Performs risk assessments to minimize change impact.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and any follow-on corrective action.
  • Mentors, leads, and trains System Administrators and other Technical Support team members in problem management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • 10+ years’ hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Network Support Technician in an enterprise environment supporting both classified and unclassified networks.
  • Applies extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization.
  • Advanced administration level understanding of Operating systems.
  • Advanced level of skills in network and server security, configuration, and installation.
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure.
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
  • Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking.
  • Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training.
  • Advance skill set for Networking: iSCSI, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, xGbe, NFS, CIFS.
  • Desired skill set for Tools: SolarWinds, NetIQ Sentinel, or similar.

This position requires an active Department of Defense security clearance at the Top-Secret/SCI level for consideration.

U.S. citizens only are eligible for a security clearance and this position.

EDUCATION:

  • High School/GED diploma or higher required.
  • Active IAT Level-2 certification at time of hire or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date. CompTIA Security+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), preferred.

COMPENSATION:

  • Dexian reasonable expects to pay $69.65 to $81.94 / hour for this position based on skills and experience. Benefits include Health, Vision and Dental insurance, matching 401k, generous PTO, and more.

  • Submit/Pass a 10-year background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints.
  • Valid driver’s license/Real-ID with clean driver’s history.
  • Self-starter with extremely strong work ethic. Excellent time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and people skills.
  • Ability to research, resolve and complete tasks within pre-determined deadlines and schedules.
  • Able to process work quickly and accurately – dealing with interruptions, changing timelines and priorities on a regular basis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate details in a professional manner.
  • Must embrace technology to promote efficient operations.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word programs.
  • Working knowledge of app/database ticketing systems. Knowledge with ServiceNow, a plus.
