Our Team

Sanofi Business Operations (SBO), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi’s Business Transformation organization, is setting up a captive Business Services center in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services

With respect to Account to Report (A2R) the Business Services center will be covering the following areas of the process

  • Fixed Assets Management
  • Tax Accounting
  • Intercompany Accounting
  • Treasury Accounting
  • GL Accounts Closing and Reporting
  • Cost Accounting
  • Financial and Statutory Reporting
  • Master Data

The Interco Coe invoice processing accountant reports to the Interco CoE Operations Lead based in Budapest and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team

Main responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to

  • Deliver and manage intercompany accounting services
  • Address operational issues
  • Follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
  • Deliver operational KPIs and comply with Sanofi policies and guidelines
  • Participate to continuous improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities

Delivery service

  • Ensure issuing invoices, booking invoices and reconciliation of Interco Services
  • Ensure issuing invoices or credit notes, booking invoices and reconciliation of Manual Interco product flow including support to identify the root cause/issue resolution
  • Clearing interco services and product invoices
  • Clear COGS and Non-COGS GRIR interco
  • Contribute to business reviews
  • Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements
  • Complete all activities as per the global Core Model and operational KPIs
  • Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope and become a super-user
  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition

Stakeholders’ Management

  • Sets up close relationships with other Finance stakeholders (controlling, treasury, IFSA, tax, internal control,...), other SBS departments, Customer Service and A2R team
  • Set up close relationship within the organization (Continuous Improvement Interco CoE Team, Operations analyst and Master Data, Technology & automation) to provide improvements in the process & Solutions to secure an End to End optimized & efficient process

Geographic scope

  • Intercompany transactions for all European, North America affiliates with other affiliates
  • The intercompany transactions for Latin-American affiliates will be managed by Captive in Bogota and the intercompany transactions for JPAC/Greater China will be managed by Captive in Kuala Lumpur

About you

Experience

  • Graduate degree in accounting or finance
  • Hands on expertise invoice processing
  • Good and proven experience in GL accounting preferably in an international multicultural environment (advantageous)
  • Experience in working within a Business Services organization (advantageous)
  • Experience in accounting with direct work experience in Interco operations and its delivery

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel
  • Experience of SAP FICO
  • Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (essential)
  • Desired but not mandatory: Experience in accounting-related IT tools (e.g. Trintech Cadency)

Ability to

  • Organize, prioritize, and structure the tasks for oneself and direct reports
  • Attentive to detail, precise, action oriented and change agent
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end-to-end mindset
  • Good communication skills, Strong problem-solving skills, deductive, well organized and attention to detail
  • Fluent English (written and oral), knowledge of other European languages (advantageous)
