The Opportunity:
The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering is seeking a Software Developer I position to support multiple projects in the department. The Software Developer I will process video data using state-of-the-art techniques that will include masking, pose, etc. This position will generate vehicle and pedestrian trajectories to generate traffic safety metrics. The Software Developer I will plan, develop, maintain, and support information technology systems and operations. This position will provide application development, performance monitoring, application acceleration, and service discovery to optimally deploy, run, and improve applications. The Software Developer I will support multiple transportation projects. These projects will include developing software, smartphone applications, and web development; and testing new technologies and equipment such as traffic detection systems including cameras, Lidar, etc.
This is a grant-funded position. Employment is based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length for which the position is available. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time the funding for this employment is depleted.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field.
