Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Privacy Manager to join Paysafe. This role in the Group Privacy Team will provide support to the Chief Privacy Officer and Deputy to enable Paysafe to comply with their Data Protection obligations globally. This is a front-line role for an experienced privacy professional. You will need to demonstrate practical privacy experience in a B2B and B2C facing company and have excellent technical understanding or capabilities to implement and apply privacy management tooling. 

Based in Lima, the individual will join the Group Privacy team in providing support to all of the business lines globally and assisting in rolling out and embedding the Group privacy controls framework. This role offers a flexible work environment where you will have a blend of 3 in office days and 2 remote working days during the work week.

You will bring your experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Global Privacy and Data Protection laws including but not limited to Peru’s Law 29733, Brazil’s LGPD, GDPR, CCPA and PIPEDA. In addition, you should be willing to develop knowledge of Data Protection laws more widely globally support the Privacy assessment of business processes against the Global Privacy Policy and Privacy Standards.

As well as responding to daily business operational queries, the role supports the delivery of Privacy compliance via privacy management tooling (primarily OneTrust), including due diligence and assurance activities.

This is a frontline role for an experienced data privacy professional, working with the business areas and other Paysafe risk teams to:

  • Manage the Privacy technology solutions delivered by OneTrust (or other provider) technology
  • Review all due diligence questionnaires and content to determine Privacy remediation or escalation
  • Configure OneTrust modules to meet Privacy requirements (eg alerts, reporting requirements, etc)
  • Act as the key point of contact for Paysafe and OneTrust
  • Develop and manage the annual Supplier Due Diligence (Privacy) review with Procurement and its delivery 
  • Provide specialist advice, consultation and support and subject matter resources required to all business units and functions within Paysafe’s Group structure 
  • Assist in the continued development and improvement of all aspects Paysafe’s privacy compliance program (data transfers, processing, privacy policies, staff training, etc.)

The role will include collaborating, leading or assisting in all the main privacy areas for a global company, including: 

  • implementing the ‘Privacy Policy’ and accompanying ‘Standards’ globally across all group companies via our privacy management tooling
  • establishing, harmonizing, and maintaining Paysafe’s global Privacy compliance framework through technology solutions
  • disseminating new guidance on Data Protection and Privacy to all staff and preparing training materials on our technology solutions 
  • monitoring compliance with the Global Privacy Standards, Policies and procedures and liaising with Internal Audit 
  • carrying out or reviewing Privacy / Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • investigation and management of potential breaches and data incidents
  • providing pragmatic and risk-based advice on marketing initiatives, particularly electronic marketing
  • ensuring that Privacy risks are properly mitigated in systems processing personal data
  • monitor, annually review and amend as appropriate the global DP registrations and notification(s)
  • providing advice on projects and to act as a key point of contact for Privacy issues
  • reviewing and advising on DPA / supplier clauses contracts, as well as clauses in customer terms and contracts to meet applicable international Privacy requirements

Key Requirements and Experience

  • English language proficiency 
  • At least 7 years’ experience as a Privacy Manager/Senior Manager
  • Proven experience in the implementation and use of Privacy technologies within a business, e.g. OneTrust modules or other bespoke technical solutions that present a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA); Maturity Self-Assessment questionnaires; Cookie monitoring solutions; GDPR Article30 data mapping templates, etc
  • Post graduate certification in one or more of data privacy, legal, compliance, information technology is desirable; IAPP CIPP qualifications, especially CIPP/US, CIPP/C, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, etc. 
  • Experience in financial services/payments industry is considered a plus
  • Proven experience of working with privacy issues
  • Understanding of Internet architecture and related operations
  • Ability to simplify complex Privacy advice and deliver in non-technical language
  • Practical experience in the area of privacy and a good understanding of the GDPR and its implications, preferably within an international organization. Wider global privacy law knowledge is helpful
  • If a qualified lawyer, you must have proven experience of operationalizing Privacy within a commercial business 
  • Pragmatic, risk-based approach and experience
  • Experience of working in a ‘second line of defence’ risk role
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of Privacy matters
  • Ability to travel as required (not extensive)
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify the complicated and
  • Capable of influencing at all levels of the organization in a friendly and constructive manner
  • Flexibility for international business travel
