What’s the opportunity?

The Executive Marketing & Corporate Sponsorships Director is responsible for developing and managing corporate sponsorship strategies to maximize revenue and generate brand awareness. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about building relationships with clients and partners. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and securing corporate sponsors, negotiating terms and contracts, and managing the delivery of sponsorship benefits. Additionally, the role will be responsible for developing and executing marketing and promotional plans (in conjunction with our regional marketing teams) to increase brand visibility and awareness and to leverage Senior Executive time and presence around key sponsorship events. 

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this role?

Program Management - Sponsorships: 

  • Conduct in-depth analysis on major sponsorship opportunities including assessment of potential value, negotiations with vendor to maximize the value.
  • Develop scenario analysis to determine optimum trade-offs in negotiations in order to maximize value to the firm. 
  • Lead efforts to work with key business partners to understand their goals and desires for the sponsorship to ensure expectations are taken into consideration in negotiations.
  • Responsible for leading and directing all media negotiations directly with vendors and agencies 
  • Responsible for sponsorship evaluations and presentation to senior executives during the planning process and on an ad hoc upon request basis.
  • Communicate and present points of view and analytical evaluations using models based on industry best practices to evaluate assessed media value.

Agency and Vendor Relationship Management: 

  • Lead day to day agency and vendor relationships (currently 5 agencies and over 100 vendors globally).
  • Oversee/responsible for leading the execution of all contracts, master services agreements, statements of work and authorizations to purchase media working directly with legal leadership and senior executives internally as well as with agencies and vendors
  • Lead development of process for ensuring documentation is in place and procedures are followed with legal and accounting.

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with excellent knowledge of global corporate conference scene
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, senior executives, and internal partners.
  • Demonstrated contract negotiation skills
  • Strong writing skills including supporting social media programs for key executives
  • Excellent communicator with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel globally as appropriate

Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $170,000 - $200,000.
