Basic Function
 
This position will be responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance of facility equipment and machinery to maintain optimal up time of production equipment. May perform wiring, plumbing, electrical/mechanical maintenance repair and installation. Trouble shooting PLC’s, motors, motor controls, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, and robotics.  Effectively communicate and provide training or technical support to maintenance team in these areas.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  1. Follow and comply with all safety standards including LOTO.
  2. Provide safe and timely electrical support.
  3. Confer with supervisor on job assignments and preventive maintenance, TPM events and maintenance work orders.
  4. Analyze, troubleshoot, replace and install electrical DC controls and AC controls
  5. Power distribution troubleshooting and electrical installations
  6. Troubleshoot and correction of equipment Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s)
  7. Suggest, design and upgrade existing equipment controls
  8. Develop, create and keep current all electrical documentation.
  9. PLC programing and modification of programs and devices
  10. Ethernet I/O troubleshooting and setup
  11. Equipment electrical safety control installation, repair and troubleshooting
  12. Work from complicated drawings, blueprints, worksheets, and other related documents.
  13. Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment.
  14. Participate in continuous improvement activities
  15. Regular attendance is a required job responsibility.

Education
 
Associate’s level education in an industrial maintenance related field from a two-year college or technical school and/or equivalent work experience and education.
 
 
 
Experience
 
5 - 10 years work experience in manufacturing maintenance or equivalent work experience and education.  Fully meets Skill Set Inventory of Maintenance Specialist I, Maintenance Specialist II and Maintenance Specialist III.
 
 
Mental Requirements
 
Worker must be able to use advance trade math with complicated drawings; use precision measuring instruments, NC/CNC equipment, PC and specific software involving technical skill’s knowledge. Must complete and retain powered industrial equipment certification to include industrial forklift and aerial platform required. Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, solid state and PLC systems. Must have experience with RS Logix, Control Logix. Must have AC, DC, VFD, Flux, Vector, Servo and Stepper motor and drive experience. Ability to work independently.
