Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to delight Flexport's customers

The opportunity: 

Flexport is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sr. Digital Marketing Manager to join our growing team. Digital Marketing at Flexport is a highly collaborative role. You’ll partner closely with teams in Sales, Communications and Engineering, as well as Product Management and leaders in Omnichannel. Your charter will be to help develop and execute digital marketing strategies, paid media plans, and marketing operation workflows to acquire and nurture Flexport’s customers. 

Armed with a passion for innovation and for taking new offerings to market on a global scale, you’ll assess new growth opportunities, develop digital marketing plans, create and execute digital media, dive deep in marketing analytics, measure performance and iterate to drive Flexport revenue, growth and brand value.

You will:

  • Deeply understand Flexport’s Freight and Omnichannel customers through qualitative and quantitative research - including the how they engage with media, their user journey from awareness to conversion, and how best to acquire, activate and retain customers using digital marketing tools. 
  • Develop digital marketing strategies including paid media plans across multiple channels including but not limited to SEM/SEO, paid and organic social (Meta, LinkedIn), digital display and programmatic media, email campaigns, website optimization, and more. 
  • Execute digital campaigns and manage day-to-day performance including keyword researching, targeting, bidding, and measurement. 
  • Lead marketing operations for the Omnichannel business including our Hubspot CRM, customer lifecycle management, and our customer analytics. You will report customer performance on a regular basis, drawing meaningful insights to improve our customer experience. 
  • Analyze complex dynamics across our digital marketing channels and how they impact our customer’s experience and our business goals. Report on a regular basis, and iterate based on learnings and results. 
  • Own our understanding of the competitive landscape for your marketing areas, and be the go-to expert for how our competition is using digital marketing tools and media.
  • Identify opportunities to drive product growth, and develop data-driven recommendations to reach new customers and achieve other business KPIs.

You should have:

  • 7-10 years relevant experience in digital marketing and/or paid media planning and execution. 
  • Deep expertise in digital marketing strategy, execution, analytics and tools including Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads. 
  • Experience developing and executing paid digital campaigns including SEM, social and display, as well as optimizing owned digital channels such as website, SEO, organic social, and email marketing. 
  • Technical knowledge of campaign development, measurement design, pixel implementation, and analytics is critical to success. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dive deep and connect multiple data sources to draw insightful conclusions. 
  • Experience with marketing operations and customer lifecycle management connecting marketing motions to sales and business outcomes. 
  • Background in B2B marketing, working closely with product development and sales teams is preferred. 
  • A deeply curious mindset: you are excited to learn about complex problems in a complex industry, and to distill complexity to various levels depending on your audience.
  • An organized work style: you have plenty of experience managing complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities to get the most impactful work done.
  • A team player mentality: you know how to work with collaborators across disciplines, backgrounds and timezones. You will work cross-functionally with Flexport teams as well as external partners. 
  • An analytical mindset: you know how to define success, measure against it and learn from failure. Experience with Salesforce, Hubspot, Metabase, Snowflake, Looker – are a plus!
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.
