Job Description

The Digital Marketing Manager plays a key role in strategically executing digital initiatives that deliver business results across the Residential & Renovation division of ITW. This digital expert is responsible for expanding our digital footprint and improving the online experience for our users.

The Digital Marketing Manager manages our outside agencies to effectively reach our target audience by executing media plans, driving SEM & SEO, planning digital marketing campaigns, improving web performance, as well as driving email marketing, social media, influencers, and display advertising.

This leader works collaboratively with Product Management, Sales, IT, and Finance and reports to the Brand & Digital Marketing Manager. Their primary goal is to grow lead generation and drive conversion for our top brands, enabling ITW to achieve its marketing and business goals.

ITW R&R offers a broad range of professional grade anchoring tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Our products include wood to wood fastening systems (Paslode®), structural wood fasteners (GRK Fasteners®), concrete anchoring systems (Tapcon®, Red Head®, Ramset®), underlayment screws (Backer-On® Rock-On®), self-drilling screws (Teks®) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z Ancor®). DIGITAL LEAD GENERATION

  • Paid Media – Lead the development of our internal and external digital media plans. Set benchmarks and goals for the year. Monitor and optimize budget spend and performance of each media channel (Trade Desk, Google & Meta). Create campaign briefs and review and approve ads. Manage digital agency and meet on a regular basis with vendors and customers’ media teams. Provide assets, copy and approvals for campaigns and ensure agency is spending pre-approved budget accurately.
  • Website – Manage the performance of our websites guaranteeing a seamless UX for our target audience. Leverage Google Analytics to set, tag and track lead generation goals. Drive all website redesign and migration projects. Provide weekly prioritization to the developers from our IT agency to complete requests. Oversee and ensure optimal performance of our content management system, hosting platforms, clouds, and servers. Lead SEO execution, identify areas to improve, perform full keyword research and bring SEO strategy to life.
  • Database Management – Manage and keep up to date our end users’ databases for lead generation and incorporate them into our email campaign management CRM. Transfer customers information to our websites from the database on Salesforce. Segment end users and customers within the databases to ensure effective and focused lists that can be leveraged by Sales, Customer Support, and Marketing.

ORGANIC GROWTH

  • Social Media Management – Build the social media Annual Plan and LRP for each of our brands. Approve the content strategy developed by our creative agency. Set and monitor goals to grow followers, engagement rate and impressions. Track content calendar, oversee management of Hootsuite and monitor and respond to comments to ensure best practices are met. Lead review and approval process with Product Managers. Approve reposts of UGC. Test new social media tactics to grow our reach. Create a plan for live/sales events.
  • Influencer Marketing – Lead scouting process to bring new influencers to our brands. Work with our legal department to develop contracts and lead the negotiations with influencers’ managers. Build posting calendars for each influencer and meet with them on a regular basis to ensure they are posting accordingly and to answer any of their questions. Drive giveaways tactics. Plan influencer events and guarantee their participation promoting our brands in key national tradeshows. Execute the shipments of tools, samples, gear, and gifts to influencers.
  • Email Marketing – Execute the email marketing strategy by managing the channel newsletter and executing email campaigns for our end users.
  • Reputation Management (Ratings & Reviews) – Consistently monitor, optimize, and respond to all company-related information across all channels to build a positive brand perception online. Lead BazaarVoice platform management and communications with our account lead. Lead the training of platform usage and responsibilities for the marketing team. Oversee Marketing Specialists monthly reporting on reviews and ratings. Manage response protocols based on customer and industry best practices.

BUDGET, REPORTING AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Budget – Oversee the budget management for media, subscriptions, dues, memberships, licenses, and creative development. Request and submit invoices, accrue funds when necessary and lead reconciliation meetings with agencies to monitor funds-on-hand and outlooked projects.
  • Reporting – Deliver insightful and actionable reports/dashboards with monthly analytics for paid media, social media, websites, email marketing and report to key stakeholders. Work with external vendors to monitor & track key brand KPIs such as awareness, consideration, and lead generation. Update website reporting monthly. Update digital report quarterly and distribute to VPGM, Sr. Marketing Director and Brand & Digital Marketing Manager. Print out digital dashboard performance each month. Provide reporting on customer eCommerce performance utilizing the PIP report.
  • Platforms Management – Owner of Smartsheet, SharpSpring, Hooutsuite, BazaarVoice and other digital platforms used by the entire marketing team.
  • Digital Transformation – Lead omnichannel commercialization strategy across the organization. Present digital trends, and best practices. Build awareness about the tiers type of each campaign – Tier 1 being omni channel messaging and Tier 2 & 3 multichannel. Create the messaging hierarchy for all digital campaigns. Lead RFP process for major website redesigns, agency requests, etc. Ensure all brand guidelines and brand voice displayed properly throughout all digital channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in digital marketing or comparable discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive digital marketing experience is required.
  • Experience working on client side and durable goods experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and concepts is required.
  • Proficiency in CMS, SEO and Google Analytics is a must. Knowing Kentico CMS is a plus.
  • SEM, Google Suite, Meta, PPC, AdWords experience is a must. E-Commerce experience is a plus.
  • Sprout Social, Hootsuite or other social media management tools experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Facebook, Instagram and YouTube is required.
  • Experience managing influencer marketing programs is a plus.
  • Email marketing experience is required. B2B/B2C email marketing experience is a plus.
  • Experience managing data analytics dashboards is a must.
  • Experience working with PIM/DAM systems is preferred.
