Essential Functions of the Job

  • Design equipment for the sweeper industry
  • Lead projects including but not limited to new product development, product upgrades, and cost analyses
  • Create detailed component part and/or assembly drawings
  • Help create Bill of Materials (BOM) for design layout or component part/assembly drawing
  • May provide technical service regarding questions of products or designs
  • Oversee the production of design prototypes by technicians
  • May create technical writings for production and customer use
  • Collaborate with team members in Engineering and other departments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • 8-10 years of engineering design experience
  • Knowledge of engineering design standards and manufacturing capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to write and communicate technically
  • Knowledge of BOM, stress analysis, material selection and material sizing
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record
  • Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes
  • Must have verifiable work references, be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, and a background check
  • Legally eligible for employment in the U.S
  • May be required to travel including occasional overnight stays; must be able to work occasional overtime to complete projects as needed
  • Enjoys working collaboratively
  • Loves to see a product from start to finish

Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or equivalent engineering experience is required. Aero and Fluid Flow focus is preferred. Prefer 1-2 years previous mechanical engineering experience, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

Work performed in both office and manufacturing environment. Sitting for extended periods of time and occasional lifting/pushing of 50 pounds independently; and stooping, reaching, and/or bending to perform job duties. Primary duties require sufficient manual dexterity and visual/auditory acuity to operate standard office equipment and engineering software.
