The Technology sector has long been an area of focus for the firm (investment banking, equity research, sales and trading). The Technology Investment Banking group at Wedbush is seeking an experienced Managing Director to take on a key leadership role in transaction origination. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of revenue generation. The position is responsible for originating and executing M&A mandates in software and/or enterprise tech.

This opportunity will be in office based in our San Francisco office. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Initiate new client relationships with software and enterprise technology companies
  • Engage in marketing activities with existing and new potential clients and manage deal pipeline
  • Lead all aspects of transaction life cycle: client sourcing, marketing, due diligence, negotiation, documentation, and closing
  • Develop and communicate strategic direction for the investment banking team under supervision
  • Search for new advisory opportunities
  • Advise client management teams and Board of Directors on complex corporate finance and strategic issues
  • Evaluate financial statements & results, budgets, and forecasts in order to recommend appropriate strategic and other financing solutions to clients
  • Develop strong internal relations with various departments to maximize cross-selling strategies
  • Mentor, lead, and develop team members
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; MBA, CFA, CPA or other advanced degrees/credentials desirable
  • 10+ years of experience within the Technology sector at a nationally recognized investment banking firm, specifically in Software and Enterprise tech
  • FINRA Series 79 required
  • Excellent sales, lead generation, and negotiation skills
  • High proficient in corporate finance concepts and trends, particularly relating to financial institutions
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, ideally with understanding of valuation techniques; Must be highly proficient in financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency
  • Strong leadership and management skills

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Decisions regarding compensation are determined on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to location; skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current hiring range is $250,000.
