Want to build at the cutting edge of immersive shopping experiences? Visual Innovation Technology is at the center of all advanced visual and immersive content at Amazon. We're pioneering AR and VR shopping, CGI, and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who will help drive innovation in this space and who has a passion for large-scale service architecture.

This role is for if you want to be a part of:

  • Building one of the largest media content libraries on the planet of image, video, and 3D assets
  • Driving the success and adoption of emerging experiences across Amazon leveraging 3D and video
  • Partnering with world-class scientists and artists to drive innovation in 3D and other new content creation

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer in Visual Innovation, you will be responsible for:

  • Leveraging a variety of Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies to build scalable solutions for digital asset management and media libraries for 3D, image, and video content
  • Developing workflows for visual content creation that integrate creative artist teams with 3D hardware scanning and with automation from computer graphics science and machine learning approaches

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Prior experience with Amazon Web Services technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
