Introduction

We currently have an opportunity availabile for a Qualified Accountant to join our Income Accounting team in Glasgow.

As an Income Accountant you will play a key role within our UK Accounting team. You'll ensure that monthly income related positings are accounted for accurately and within agreed timelines. You'll also assist with the wider finance automation project and where possible help drive processes improvement and development of the wider team.

How you'll make an impact

  • Taking ownership of the trading P&L and Balance Sheet income accounting processes assigned to you, ensuring the monthly results are recorded within reporting deadlines
  • Liaise closely with regional CFOs and Business Partners on results and reporting
  • Provide insightful analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis for senior management
  • Liaising with our off-shore processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaising with Finance Business Partners and other department’s out with the Income team to provide support for queries as they arise
  • Ensure SOX requirements are met
  • Help drive forward change initiatives to ensure that income accounting function and team members improve, supporting part qualified students in their development
  • Assist in the finance automation project, includes testing and process design / improvements
  • Assist in the roll out of new Brokerage systems, includes testing and process design / improvements.
  • Providing support in response to external and internal audit requests. Provide complex lead schedules for audit purposes and detailed analysis

About you

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA or equivalent)
  • Experience gained within a SOX and regulatory/control based environment desirable
  • US GAAP experience highly desirable
  • Ability to priority manage and adhere to challenging deadlines
  • Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments
  • Experience of implementing new processes/controls desirable
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
