At Oracle, you will learn new resume-eye-catching technologies. You will learn to work on existing features. You will learn to write new features. All that thousands of customers will use. You will learn to support customers and how to communicate with internal engineering partners. You will learn about new industry changing technologies to impress your engineering buddies and confuse your parents. Your work experience with us will make you ready for working anywhere.
Who we are: We are the Oracle Cloud Native Engineering team, responsible for the development and verification of a highly available, scalable, secure, operations stack and development environment for use by cloud native products in the Oracle Cloud environments. Our team provides domain agnostic services developed for cross-industry Software as a Service (SaaS) applications to enable reduced operating costs.
This organization is currently broken up into multiple teams creating an ecosystem of cloud development. All of these teams are looking for quality individuals to help them further their services. Those teams include the:
What we do: We work hard developing new services for our internal engineering partners to use on our platform. We support these services 24x7 / 365 in our environments. We currently use technologies such as:
These are always subject to change as new ones present themselves to us to solve more complex problems. We also use agile software methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban. And yes, we celebrate birthdays with cookie cake.
Who you are: You are a student with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similar major with a 3.75 GPA. You are willing to work either Spring/Summer rotation or Summer/Fall rotation (3 month internship is not nearly enough time for you to have fun with us). At this time we cannot offer sponsorships so you are free to work in the U.S. You have a strong work ethic, high integrity, and desire to learn new technologies. Minimally you have some Linux/Unix knowledge, programming knowledge, and knowledge of object oriented design techniques. And no, you don’t have to like cookie cake, but seriously, who doesn’t like cookie cake.
What you will do: You will work alongside a software development team within the greater Oracle Cloud Native Engineering team where you will develop new features as well as expand and support existing features. One week you may be writing automated tests for an existing feature. The next week you may be developing a new feature (design, code, test, and deploy) for a customer in our environment. The next week you may be providing support to a customer on your new feature. You will learn new technologies based on what we already deploy and use. You will also learn about and research new technologies that you bring to the team to better our offerings. And if you work hard, cookie cake!
