ANSYS, Inc. seeks Principal Application Engineer to work in Ann Arbor, MI

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software and solutions in design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. 
  • Use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help guide Ansys product roadmap based on customer requirements. 
  • Consult with customers on simulation-based solutions in support of their key business initiatives, architect pervasive simulation solutions, lead project teams, and mentor junior engineers. 
  • Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, negotiate technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. 
  • Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams. 
  • Be a recognized industry / technology expert within and outside of Ansys. 
  • Help guide complex sales engagements to eksuccessful outcomes using subject matter expertise and industry knowledge. 
  • Establish as a trusted advisor to multiple customers; understand their key business initiatives, product design needs and engineering design workflows.
  • analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys’ value proposition to Executive level audiences. 
  • Architect differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and products.
  • lead project teams to develop and deploy the solutions within customers’ design workflows. 
  • Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to guide Ansys product roadmap. 
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead project teams testing new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems, develop application best practices. 
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to further enhance Ansys technology, processes and people skills. 
  • Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentations, drive academic/industrial partnerships. Contribute to consulting services, conduct advanced training classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, and Ten (10) years of experience in an engineering software role.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, and twelve (12) 
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included: 
  • Knowledge of relevant Ansys software or other commercial CAE, CAD, and PLM software packages; 
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and product development; 
  • Experience building and deploying solutions using simulation technology; 
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time
  • Additional work location information: Telecommuting permitted. Must be able to travel to customer sites in the Detroit, Michigan metropolitan area.
