We are looking for a Finance Analyst - Banking, Insurance & Payroll (BIP) and Inventory, to be based in our APAC Regional Hub in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will be supporting month-end GL (general ledger) Business Banking, Treasury, Insurance and Payroll (BIP) closing activities and financial reporting of Market’s results. You will support in the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations, and review of journal entries and execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end closing, reporting activities and be accountable for the timeliness, accuracy, relevance and integrity of financial analyses and reports.

The role helps to deliver the Finance vision of a “world class finance function recognised by industry, the profession and our people” which underpins the GSK vision. 

  • Support month-end GL (general ledger) Business Banking, Treasury, Insurance, Payroll and Inventory (and other required) close and reporting activities contributing to Market's results.
  • Support in the execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework.
  • Provide Controllership support and ensuring quality delivery of BIP & Inventory reporting responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness on a daily basis around BIP activities.
  • Resolve BIP & Inventory accounting and reporting issues.
  • Support in the execution of month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and Operating Procedures in places.
  • Ensure compliance to Regional / Global Finance Hub policies, local Company legal and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible, and proactive manner. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. C&C, P2P, O2C, FRMC, Stat&Tax) to ensure successful month-end close.
  • Supporting the BIP & Inventory financial reporting of the designated legal entities.
  • Support other team members through knowledge transfer; sharing of resource, knowledge and experience and best practice thereby ensuring quality is maintained.
  • Support in projects and other ad-hoc activities:
  • Support dividend payment process / related cashflow analysis & forecasting.
  • Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries.
  • Other activities related to BIP, Service Delivery, Controllership / Reporting activities.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • 5+ years of Banking, Treasury, Insurance, Payroll and Financial Reporting / Auditing experience including areas on financial accounting, reporting and statutory filing, master data maintenance, asset accounting, inter-company transactions, inventory.
  • Fluent English
  • University educated (Degree) in Finance, Accountancy, Business, Economics

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Systems: SAP, Bison, Lumira experience.
  • Experience in working in Shared Service Centre in financial accounting or audit functions preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Professional Accountancy Qualifications (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate a good Commercial operations mindset and being able to interact with stakeholders at different level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and displaying initiative in solving problems
  • Actively seeks to improve processes making them more effective and efficient
  • Attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to plan and manage workload to ensure all key deadlines are met.
  • Experience working with tight timelines and in a demanding environment.
