Job Description:

The Atlassian Support Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the Atlassian suite of tools, including Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA and other related applications. Candidate will ensure the availability, security, and optimal performance of these tools, as well as support and train users on their effective utilization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the Atlassian suite of tools, including BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA and associated plugins/add-ons.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure Atlassian tools, ensuring they are up to date and free from any known security vulnerability and ensure that they are properly integrated with other systems and tools used within the organization.
  • Configure and maintain cluster setup for the Data Center edition of Atlassian tools deployed in AWS environment. 
  • Monitor the performance, availability, and security of Atlassian applications, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with development teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and configure/customize the Atlassian tools accordingly.
  • Manage user access and permissions, ensuring appropriate levels of access are granted and maintained in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Atlassian product releases, updates, and new features, and evaluate their potential impact and benefits for the organization.
  • Conduct regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
  • Develop and implement best practices and guidelines for using Atlassian tools, and provide training and support to users to ensure their effective utilization.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field with 4+ years experience.
  • Proven experience as an Atlassian Stack Administrator or similar role, with a strong administration experience of Confluence, Bitbucket, JIRA and associated plugins/add-ons.
  • Proficient in configuring and customizing Atlassian tools, including workflows, issue types, permissions, notifications, and dashboards.
  • Solid knowledge of Git and experience with administering Git-based version control systems, preferably Bitbucket.
  • Proficient in configuring and customizing Bitbucket, including repository settings, access controls, commit hooks, webhooks, and integrations.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Groovy) for automation and customization of Atlassian tools.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong experience of managing Data center editions of Atlassian products in the AWS environment. Good knowledge of managing AWS instances in a VPC including security group configurations, internal and external load balancer configuration etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing instances in a FedRAMP certified environments
  • Solid understanding of documentation best practices and experience in organizing and structuring content effectively. Knowledge of HTML and CSS for customizing Confluence pages is desirable.
  • Atlassian certifications, such as Atlassian Certified Bitbucket Administrator or Atlassian Certified Confluence Administrator, are highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$87,500—$115,000 USD
