Reality Labs' mission is to build tools that help people feel connected anytime, anywhere. As a Tech Lead for RL Devices Operations, you'll support the hardware organization building future generations of Quest, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and AR/VR products. You will drive strategic initiatives across multiple product teams, working closely with leaders to help them identify and evaluate opportunities to scale and run the organization effectively. You will work across RL Devices, which consists of hardware technology, engineering, sourcing and operations teams, and collaborate with teams in finance, product and program management.

Product Engineering Operations Lead, RL Devices Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering and operations leaders in the Devices organization to execute our product vision and prioritize our investments. You will lead technical due diligence and the development of business cases as needed.
  • Drive operational excellence in hardware product development by developing and executing processes and frameworks that create efficiency, remove obstacles and improve operational metrics.
  • Manage multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure that the organization is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics for org-wide initiatives such as ROI, and develop strategies to improve performance.
  • Develop and manage budgets, and ensure that all financial operations are conducted in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify and manage risks that may impact our engineering operations, build decision making frameworks, develop and manage communication including product updates and technology roadmap reviews.
  • Invest in relationships with cross-functional partners, understanding their needs, and ensuring our mechanisms and business processes drive higher levels of partnership and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in any combination of the following functions: engineering, product design, product management, business operations, technical program
  • Experience managing or collaborating with engineering teams through product development cycles, thinking strategically and executing methodically
  • Experience with problem solving and providing business insights and recommendations from data sets
  • Experience with communication - drafting and creating meaningful content that people connect with
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, managing multiple projects with internal staff and external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent
  • Experience in a consumer focused technology company
  • Experience in mass production, working with both domestic and overseas manufacturing
  • Experience working with partnerships teams and external partners at both a supply base and product level
  • Experience building 0->1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or marketplaces
  • Experience with new technology or product investments (NTI / NPI)

$195,000/year to $267,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
