External Description

The primary responsibility of the Resource Manager is to manage creative and design resourcing for all agency projects. This individual acts as the liaison between Creative and Project Management as it relates to resourcing across creative work. Will be responsible for leading the expansion of resource management methodologies within GSD&M and providing resourcing insight to other agency disciplines.

Build strong, collaborative, and supportive relationships with 3 key stakeholders:

  • Creative Department
  • Project Management
  • Creative Operations Manager/CCO
  • Responsible for managing overall creative and design utilization
  • Responsible for the advocacy and assimilation of Skills Workflow as a resource management tool
  • Participate on a cross-discipline Skills team to optimize and integrate tool-based management of our resourcing needs, in line with agency business goals
  • Manages shared creative resource pool across multiple clients/projects
  • Monitor day-to-day creative and design resourcing needs, identifying potential instances of under or over allocation of staff members and actively working with department leads to address and solve those issues
  • Maintain calendar of creative teams' location status based on project assignments, production, meetings, etc.
  • Pair appropriate resources with appropriate projects based on project needs as well as resource skill sets and availability
  • Communicate with Project Managers on individual projects: dates, deliverables, requirements, and resource assignments
  • Maintain and provide accurate data for leadership regarding projects, pipeline, forecast, and capacity planning
  • Partner with Creative Operations Manager and Talent Acquisition to identify hire needs and skillset gaps as they arise.
  • Provide and publish availability information and proactively manage bandwidth by optimizing downtime
  • Monitor and report on health of resources (burn, productivity, morale)
  • Lead daily/weekly resource meetings and facilitate resourcing booking issues/conflict resolution as well as analyze and report on weekly utilization reports with Project Managers and GCDs
  • Produce forecasting reports that allow for the effective planning, assigning and shifting of resources and share these reports with other managers in a form they can use and interpret
  • Assists/leads in the development of new resource management approaches across the agency
  • Participate in the continued development and definition of this role including process development and technology solution discovery and utilization, and skillset/talent and project leveling system.
